The School of Cities partnered with the Canadian Urban Institute to prepare the first annual State of Canada’s Cities report, which was released on November 30, 2023 at a summit in Ottawa.

The report includes entries from many researchers associated with the School of Cities, including a feature co-authored by Karen Chapple, a professor in the Department of Geography & Planning and director of the School of Cities, on how universities can support cities. Other suggestions include making better use of public land and converting office buildings into housing.
