Institutional Strategic Initiatives (ISI) 2024 & 2025 Funding Program
Program Overview
Starting in September 2024, the University of Toronto’s (U of T’s) Institutional Strategic Initiatives (ISI) Office will launch a new competitive two-stage funding program designed to foster the development of research initiatives that support the ISI mandate to launch, grow, and sustain large-scale interdisciplinary strategic research networks with potential for transformational impact on issues of great societal importance.
Stage I – Initiative Development
Stage I competition will offer up to one year of funding support to develop a new initiative that will compete for Stage II funding. Stage I activities will focus on network-building and the development of a comprehensive multi-year strategic plan as part of the deliverables for the Stage II application. Proposed initiatives must be cross-divisional and interdisciplinary and should have meaningful tri-campus representation. Additionally, proposed initiatives should have the potential to elevate U of T’s profile and to secure significant external funding.
