ISI 2024 & 2025 Funding Program — Stage II

The University of Toronto’s (U of T’s) Institutional Strategic Initiatives (ISI) Funding Program is designed to foster the development of research initiatives that support the ISI mandate to launch, grow, and sustain large-scale interdisciplinary strategic research networks with the potential for transformational impact on issues of great societal importance. 

ISI Stage II Funding – Initiative Implementation 

Stage II will offer up to five years of funding to support core operational costs of implementing an initiative’s strategic plan, including growing the network through activities aimed at strengthening collaboration, partnership-building, knowledge mobilization, research training and other relevant activities. All Stage II initiatives will include a focus on securing significant external funding. 

Key dates 

• Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline: May 26, 2025 at 5pm 
• Notice of Intent (NOI) deadline: August 25, 2025 at 5pm 
• Full Proposal tentative deadline: January 19, 2026 

Receiving Stage I funding is not a prerequisite for Stage II.
